Prayer Vigil to Support Migrants Seeking Asylum

March 12, 2020 by Admin-NYInterFaithImmig Leave a Comment

On Sunday, March 29 at 3 pm, a prayer vigil of various faith traditions will be held at the Mary Queen of All Saints Parish, St. Cecilia Church in Pennsauken, to support migrants seeking asylum.

Sponsored by the Camden County Immigration Faith Task Force, the event is part of the Faith 4 Asylum Campaign, in conjunction with the Interfaith Immigration Coalition. The vigil aims to end the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), promulgated by the government of the United States of America, where migrants entering or applying for admission to the United States of America from Mexico can be returned to Mexico and wait outside the United States of America for the duration of their immigration procedures.

According to Faith 4 Asylum, these protocols endanger vulnerable people and have led to attacks, robberies, and even murder. Mary, Queen of All Saints, Church of Saint Cecilia, is located at 4824 Camden Avenue in Pennsauken.
